Children’s Services

whiteboardAccording to the American Academy of Pediatrics, Chiropractic care is the most common alternative medical procedure used by children every year. Chiropractic is a safe and effective means of keeping your child healthy and allowing their nervous system to function at it’s best. When there is a subluxation or misalignment in the spine, it affects nerves, blood vessels, muscles, pain sensors and function. Some basic symptoms of subluxation can be colic, ear infections, bedwetting, headbanging, teeth grinding, focus issues, toe walking, sensory dysfunction, sleep disturbances, constipation, scoliosis, asthma, etc. When a chiropractor adjusts a subluxation, the nervous system is able to function, as it should.

At Kuperus Family Chiropractic we address the subluxation, and also the cause of the misalignment. There are 3 causes to a subluxation:

1. Thoughts (stress, anxiety, tension)

2. Trauma (birth trauma, falls)

3. Toxins (poor diet, inability to absorb nutrients, leaky gut)

Dr. Rachael uses her extensive knowledge of spinal health, nutrition, supplementation and pediatric development to adjust patients and suggest nutritional, and supplementation support if deemed necessary.

Cranial Sacral Therapy:

Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) is a specific type of massage therapy that focuses on the soft tissues surrounding the nervous system. Dr. Upledger, an Osteopath from Michigan University, began researching and teaching this type of work in 1975. By using a very gentle touch the therapist is able to release areas of tension within the dural or spinal canal, effecting many areas of the body.
